For all contests (except Scarecrows) Entries must be delivered to the COLLEGE between 12noon and 6pm on Friday September 10th for registration, judging, and delivery. Most contests classes have a single registration fee of $10 that allows you to enter all the sections. Youth Baking and Scarecrows do not have registration fees.

*NEW* Woodworking Contest
Just for those of you who prefer to be creative with WOOD! Get your scroll saws warmed up and your carpenter glue ready. Each project must be mainly wood and must have been completed within the last 12 months. There is a $10 entry fee that allows you to enter every section, but just one project in each. Grand Prize will be given to the exhibitor with the highest score

Especially for you Knitters, Crocheters, and Embroiderers. Each project must have been completed within the last 12 months. You can enter many projects, but only one project per section. Each entry will be scored the highest scored item will be awarded the grand prize.

We know how many wonderful artists we have in our region. Here is your chance to strut your stuff. This contest is for oil, acrylic, watercolour painting, drawing in charcoal/pencil/pastel, collage, carving in bone, stone, or wood.

For those of you who experiment with wine making and brewing - we now have a contest for you too! if you don't have time to make a new batch, dust of a bottle from the best of last year and give our judges a challenge!
The $100 CASH Grand Prize for the home brewing contest is provided by Mokami Travel.

Each year there is a line up of local covetting the position of Baking Judge. The judges are treated to some of the best baking in central Labrador and are sure to sample a bakeapple pie, redberry muffins and other delicacies. $10 entry fee lets you enter as many items as you want. The highest scoring item will win NEW $100 Grand Prize. Baked goods must be delivered between 12 noon and 6pm on Friday Sept 10 at the Fair for judging and display.

Local cooks are invited to submit their jams and jellies, pickles and relishes for cash and merchandise prizes. It is quite a chore for the judges to taste and select the very best of partridgeberry jams or raspberry jellies. Highest score takes the NEW Grand Prize of $100 cash. Some of the contestants also sell their preserves. Preserves must be deliered betwen noon and 6:00pm on Friday September 10th at the Fair for judging and display.

Quilting Contest
Quilters are invited to submit thier beautiful creations for cash and merchandise prizes. The categories have been revised based on style of quilting, and we also have a dedicated category for beginners. The display of quilts really adds to the atmosphere of the fair. A NEW Grand prize of $100 will be awarded to the highest scoring quilt.

Agriculture Contest
The Big Land Fair offers contests for home gardeners and commercial growers. Categories include Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Grains. Registration is just $10 per category and you can enter several items under one cateogry for that small fee. (ie: carrots, potatoes, turnip all registered under vegetables). The more you enter, the more chance you have of winning the NEW $100 GRAND Prize. Produce must be delivered to the Arena on Friday September 10th between 12 noon and 6pm for judging.

Families are invited to create and exhibit their own Scarecrow Creations in front of their homes. These displays will create a festive atmosphere around the towns in our region. The winning entry will be selected during the week and transported to the Fair venue for prominent display. Family prize will be awarded. REVISED Scarecrow Contest Rules HERE
