Big Land Fair 2009
The 11th annual Big Land Fair in Happy Valley-Goose Bay was a great success. Admission was FREE and we sold tickets for great door prizes.
Crowds enjoyed amazing local musical entertainment, crafts, produce and baked goods for sale, and wonderful displays of quilts, crafts, floral arrangements, homemade jams and pickles and homegrown produce and so much more!

Lots of Fun
Contest entries for the Quilts, Pickles and Jams are all due on Wednesday before the fair by noon at the CLEDB office 169 Hamilton.
Produce and baking contest entries are due at the arena on Friday before the fair between 3-6pm for judging.

Saturday the main events start with the pancake charity breakfast at the College of the North Atlantic 8am - 11am.

The EJ Broomfield Memorial Arena opens at 9am for the Big Land Fair main events. Admission is FREE.
Kids - drop off your 'Veggie Characters' before 11:00 am for judging. See the contest section for more information. Check out the kids corner for games, activities and contests. Face painting and craft area, clowns and visits from Saftey Bear and Pookta, the Water Safety Bear, as well as storybook characters.
Meet Miss Newfoundland and Labrador, Sheena Winsor of Triton/Appleton. She'll be the one wearing the crown!

We had lots of entertainment with dancers, muscians and comedians at the Masonic Lodge opn Sunday. If you have an unusual talent and would like to be showcased next year, please contact us. This event was funded in part by the Department of Canadian Heritage.

The Big Land Fair is pleased to announce that Innu Mikun Provincial Airlines is the official air carrier for the 11th annual Big Land Fair.The airlines has provide a special prize for our doorprize draw - a $500 travel voucher! Innu Mikun PAL flies across Newfoundland and Labrador and into Quebec.
