The 12th annual Big Land Fair in Happy Valley-Goose Bay is set for September 2010.
There is an extended week of activities planned with something for every member of the family to enjoy.
The fair is being held at the COLLEGE OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC this year as the arena is under renovations. Please park at the arena and walk across.

Rock Concert featuring The Stampeders
Yes, we are having a Rock Concert featuring The Stampeders on Friday Sept 3. Advance tickets are available at Bennet's Ultramar in the valley and the Visitor Informamation Centre 365 Hamilton.

Garden GURU Ross Traverse Returns!
Our friend, Ross Traverse, will be back for the Big Land Fair this year to visit your farm or garden and provide advice about soils, watering, landscaping, pests and pruning. WHAT'S NEW in 2010
We surveyed contest participants from past events and they requested bigger prizes. WE LISTENED! And this year, several of the contests have GRAND PRIZES of $100 CASH . So get busy canning, planting your gardens, quilting and baking, and be sure to enter the Big Land Fair Contests.
NEW Contests - We have introduced a Woodworking Contest, a Fine Art contest, a Needlework contest, and a Homemade Wine and Beer Contest to let more of you get involved. Families can enter the Scarecrow contest by building them on their front lawns and registering them online or by phone for judging.

Family Fun on Saturday Sept 11
Admission is FREE at the College of the North Atlantic on Saturday Sept 11 and you can purchase door prize tickets for great door prizes. The main events start with the pancake charity breakfast in the cafeteria 8am - 11am. Then enjoy great local musical entertainment, crafts, produce and baked goods for sale, and wonderful displays of quilts, crafts, floral arrangements, homemade jams and pickles and homegrown produce and so much more! Visit the Gymnasium and the grounds for exhibits, concessions and activities.

The Big Land Fair opens at 9am for the main events. Admission is FREE.
Kids Check out the kids corner for games, activities and contests. Face painting and craft area, clowns and visits from storybook characters.

Live music featuring The Flummies and Jacinda Beals Band
Visit the craft booths, community organization displays, contest displays, and food concessions. Farm market. Fine Art Exhibit and Sale. Live Music through out the day - check out the entertainment section for the list of performers and the schedule.
Winners of vairous contests will be announced throughout the afternoon. Heritage Displays and craft demonstrations thoughout the day.
